Adriana followed him obediently as she should, her heels clicking slightly over the stone floors. At his words the more sadistic side of her growled low in her head in anger. She quickly silenced it, following him. She blushed when everyone else bowed or curtsied and she did not, being his guest.
Drink? She turned to look at him, flashing her entrancing dark eyes at him. "Only when no one's looking." She replied softly under her breath, but she took the cup anyway She sipped on it gently, afraid to drink too much too fast. She moved up beside him, feeling extremely out of place but ignoring it.
He asked her a question causing her to arch a brow. "A little, why?" She asked softly, hands resting flat on the table. [/blockquote]

Arthur traced his fingers over the map, gazing at it with steady eyes, biting on the inside of his lip. He needed to send a messenger to Cyrnic, warning him that if his people situated just outside of the wall, attacked, it would bring death to the Saxons. Arthur would not allow Hadrian’s Wall to fall, nor would he run away from his people; they needed him. ”Do you know of a passage way that leads straight to the Saxon Encampment? Perhaps one that is the road less traveled, I am going to send a rider to warn Cyrnic that if his soldiers attack, it will bring death to his people. We have not asked for war, yet he still situates 500 strong men outside of our wall”
He asked, taking a sip of water, lifting his head to gaze at Adriana. Arthur shook his head in disgust as he thought about the people that were outside of the wall; barbarians he would call them. The young man sat the cup down against the table, looking up at the eager faces of the citizens, who had been terrified last nights from the Saxon drums. Arthur turned his gaze back down to the map, tracing a route from the wall to the Saxon Encampment, thinking about who is a fast and swift rider; Marina and Lancelot. [/size]

Adriana turned her head eve so slightly to look at him, arching one of her delicate eyebrows. She thouht for a moment before replying. "If I was given a little time, I defiantly could. Or would you rather I go?" She asked softly. "Saxons are more likely to listen to a beautiful woman that a knight."
She looked back to the map on the table, tracing one of her fingers along it as well, immediately pulling it back when one of her fingertips brushed his. She cleared her throat, running her fingers along what was left of the map. Yes, she could definitely get there if she needed to. [/blockquote]

Arthur watched as some of the knights began to stand near him, Marina and Lancelot near his side. ”You do have a point, Adriana.” He traced the road to the Saxon Encampment, pondering on what to do, before he said, ”Are you willing to ride to the Saxon lands, and give them?” Arthur reached over, grabbing some parchment and some ink, and began to write,
Saxons, Cynric, and Your Leaders; My message to you is as follows, If your troops steal, raid, or begin an all out war, You will bring death to your people.
Signed; Artorius Castus.
”This. I will send some men with you, but they will fall back once you get to the camp.” Arthur said, rolling up the parchment and laying it in front of Adriana. He sighed, handing the ink back over to one of the servants, before turning his gaze back to Adriana, as he patiently waited an answer. [/size]

Adriana watched his hand as she wrote before lifting her head to look at him. Her whiskey amber eyes caught his for a moment before nodding. "I would prefer to go by myself, my King." She replied, nodding. "I would travel faster without others."
She picked the letter up off the table, holding it at her side. "I'll leave now. Give me just a few minutes to saddle Goliath and I can go." She bowed quickly to him before turning to leave.
Oh hell, what am I doing? [/blockquote]

Arthur looked at the other knights as she spoke about traveling by herself. ”It is not safe to go by yourself. Go, and the riders will come behind you. You must feel no need to wait for them; they travel slowly for a reason.” He said, watching as she bowed quickly, and turned around. Arthur looked at two knights, and said, ”Put some distances between yourselves and her.”
Sliding out of his chair, Arthur walked beside Adriana. ”Be safe, and be careful. I’ll give you two days time, if you do not return by then; I’ll send my riders for you.” He turned to glance at her, nodding for a servant to gather Goliath while another gathered his tack. [/size]

"Very well." She replied, and nodding slightly. She watched as servants went to go gather Goliath and she turned to look at Arthur. "I'll be there and back as quickly as I can. Goliath travels rather quickly for an animal of his size." She forced a smile to cover her nervousness.
She watched a man lead up Goliath and she moved towards him slowly, finally turning back to Arthur. "I'll be back soon." Unassisted, she lifted one of her long, lean legs the distance to the stirrup unassisted and pulled herself up. She gathered up the reins and turned to look at Arthur once more, tucking the letter into her bag. [/blockquote]
