Pandra turned her head back to Galahad as he said what. She watched his expressions for a moment debating on whether she was to ask her question again. He looked confused about her comment but it didn't look like he wasn't thinking of something to say. She was sure that thinking was a good thing. She knew that most of the Knights knew little about her. Of course most knew she had been rescued by Tristan and such after the battle of Badon hill. However, no one really knew where she was from or why she was even with the Saxons to begin with. If any of them had made a movement to ask her questions about such things she would have told them. Of course not many paid mind to the help in the castle and the usually only saw her when she was collecting Helena after she had run off from her guards. The only person who saw her the most was probably Tristan and Arthur as she took care of Arthur's daughter.
Finally Galahad began to speak and a soft smile crept its way upon her lips. So he liked her that was a good thing in her mind. She was half flattered and half didn't know what to think about the things that he was saying. She was still glad that she could remind him of his sister. He broke their eye contact with her and she did the same turning back to the flames of the fire sorting all out in her head. She was sure that she was blushing at some point as her cheeks felt warm but she rather liked that feeling so there was nothing she was going to do about it. She forgot about the storm outside and was thinking only of the moment that passed with Galahad. More in one of those ways of finding a long lost sibling or something. It took her a moment to turn back to him and say anything to him at all.
"I'm glad you feel safe with me. Its the first time anyone but Helena has said such a thing to me. I'd die to protect all of you if I had too." That was the honest truth. If those she cared about were in any type of danger she would fight to protect them and she would gladly lay down her life to do so. She was also not the type of person to laugh at what anyone said. However to make him think was a good think. "I'm glad I can give you challenging conversation." A genuine smile was plastered across her lips. She'd forgotten what it felt like to smile the way she was. She had not smiled like that since the day Danick left for the battle that would be the end of him. Something told her he was glad she was smiling as well. She wasn't sure what else to say to him. She left it at that. He was free to ask questions if he so choose too. [/blockquote]

The corner of Galahad’s lips curled upwards in a cheeky grin as Pandra said that she was glad she could give him a challenging conversation. Honestly it probably would not to be hard to have a challenging conversation with him – after all he was not as smart as say Dagonet. Not that Galahad ever really minded, he was who he was and nothing was going to change that. He was too old to try and start changing now anyway, to set in his ways. He had lived the same life day after day after day for nineteen long years and he was just a simple man living a life thrust upon him.
“You will not die for me…” Galahad said suddenly. Letting go of his mug of ale he reached out across the table and wrapped his long fingers around Pandra’s hand, squeezing gently to gain her full attention upon him. “I mean it Pandra, you must promise me, swear that you will never put your life at risk for me. Galahad’s deep blue eyes stared right into Pandra’s beautiful orbs a look of utter seriousness plastered upon his handsome features. There was no way that he would ever let this young woman risk her life for him.
Galahad meant it when he had said that Pandra reminded him of his sister Anna. Despite being so far away from home and despite being in this god forsaken country for nineteen years Galahad still loved his family and his little sisters with all his heart. And honestly he found himself caring for Pandra as well, as though she were a sister to him – an adopted sister. He had lived so many more years than Pandra, he had experienced so much and done so much in his life – much of which he would not wish upon anyone. Pandra still had her whole life ahead of her. She was a young, beautiful and intelligent woman, she could have anything she wanted and Galahad knew that he would fight hard to protect that.

Pandra couldn't help but giggle at Galahad's grin. It was funny really. She felt like she could be more open with Galahad now. There was a trust on a completely different level then even that night had started out. He'd been through years without a family and she'd never known a family bond really. Sure Aberth was like a father too her and so was Tristan in a sense. Well there was a level of trust that only Aberth and Tristan had reached. Danick...Danick had been that older brother that would catch you when you fell even if she didn't notice it. Even if they had grown to love each other so much more and just never admitted it. Her eyes clouded up for only a moment as she blinked the fog away. Life was a cray thing and sometimes it hit you square on the head after tragedy strikes. It reminds you that sometimes all you really need to do is live. You don't have to proves yourself but you have to take the time to sit and reflect and hope that life doesn't pass you by. A small smile came to her lips as she turned back to Galahad. They came from two completely different worlds but they had something in common a level of trust that no one could sever unless they severed it themselves.
She jumped when Galahad suddenly spoke to her. He was telling her that she wasn't going to die for him. She was a bit taken aback by his next actions. He was squeezing his hands and a rush was sent up her body that was very strange to her. He full attention was on him. It had been on him the moment that he spoke. She just looked him straight in the eyes her own locking with his. She wasn't enjoying the strangeness that she felt out of this. She was not sure why but something just seemed off. She knew he was being protective but she was not used to someone actually meaning the concern and the protectiveness. The only two other people that gave her this particular feeling had been Danick before he had gone off to fight and Tristan when he had saved her. Though the concern she felt from Tristan was a little bit different. She managed to pull her hand away from his but she never once lost eye contact with him.
"Galahad I can not promise that I will never put my life at risk for you. If by chance my death allows all of you to be prepared or it warns that is me risking my life for all. However I can promise that if you are in battle and wish me to not stand in front of an arrow and sword for you I will not. I will however lay down my life to save you all if I must. I know how to fight and if it comes to that I will fight. I will fight and die to protect what needs to be protected." She was dead serious. She could not promise that at some point her life would not be at risk to save them all. She could promise that if she had the choice she would do as he said. She was raised a Druidess to not fight until it was needed but she was also born of a warrior and she would fight to keep herself and those she loved alive now matter what.
She lived with these two contradictions. A life of peace and a life of fighting. Sure she was more peaceful but she was willing and able to fight as it was in her blood and she had trained hard. She knew how to protect herself when the time called for it. She knew Galahad knew so much more then she did had fought more then she had but there were different things bringing them to their resolves. She knew that most saw her as young with a full life ahead of her. However, in these times no one knew for sure how long one had. One had to stand up for something or they would fall for jsut about anything. She stook up still looking him straight in the eyes and about two seconds later she was hugging him. "Galahad you promise to protect but so do I. You are a brother...a brother I never had. Family that I will protect if I have too." She whispered into his ear and buried her head into his shoulder from the position to which she was hugging him. "take me as your sister in arms please." She took a deep breath and did not let go of him but she was shaking. [/center]

Gods above Galahad felt a rush of frustration wash through his veins as Pandra spoke that she could not promise she would not put herself in harm’s way for him. It was a response he should have expected, a promise to do her best but she could not guarantee that her life would not be risked for a greater cause. She was just like his sister, just like all the Knights at the fort, like Arthur and Guinevere and all those that fought to protect those in which they loved. Pandra was a strong woman and braver than she probably gave herself credit for. She was willing to risk her life for those that she loved and for a cause that she believed in and that… that was greater than anything else.
Then suddenly Pandra’s next actions shocked Galahad so much that for a moment he could do nothing but blink. Before he knew what was happening the young woman’s arms were wrapped tightly around his body, her cheek pressed against his as she hugged him tightly. But the shock quickly passed and without another thought Galahad wrapped his strong arms around Pandra’s frame and hugged her. He hugged her as though he were hugging his younger sister Anna, tightly and protectively and with as much reassurance and love as he held within his body. Pandra was as a sister to him and if his life would save hers he would gladly give it up. She was a young, beautiful, intelligent and amazingly brave woman and Galahad felt a strong sense of protectiveness when it came to Pandra.
“And you are my sister…” He whispered, gently kissing the top of Pandra’s head.
