In her mind Helena was being slightly good. She hadn't run from her guards really she'd just had them chase her to Badon Hill. At the moment she was sitting at top watching some of her father's Knights and soldier practicing. She was confused as to why there was so much practicing for war and why in the world the air felt so tense. She was young but she wasn't stupid. Her guards were trying to coax the young girl back to the castle thinking that she shouldn't be watching all the practice fighting but it only made her inch down the top of the hill a bit to get a closer look. She was smart enough to know to not get near their swords and shields.
She turned to her guards. "Shush" was all she said with a rather annoyed look on her face. She was trying to see if her father was indeed training these people or someone else was. She was always interested in what her parents were doing. Her mother at the moment was getting things set for some state affair and talking with her old friends so she didn't bother her mother. The only other person was her father and she wasn't sure if he was out and about or he was training his men. She didn't want to interrupt she just wanted to watch. She was bored with being in the castle which was why she'd made her guards chase her all the way here.
One guard attempted to be stern with her but it only made her giggle. They had after all done as the little Princess had wanted to do and chased her here. If she'd wanted to make them go away all she had to do was run faster then they could and hide so that they passed her and she got back to what she wanted to do. However she was trying to be a good girl and keep her guards close enough just in case something happened. She still wasn't too clear on exactly why she had to have guards but she'd given up for the time making it clear to herself. Her Daddy and Mommy has said she needed them and should stop running from them. These ones were annoying her now though.
She looked up again. "I said shush..." She looked at them with a half cold expression and went back to watching the activity below her. It was getting colder and the clouds looked as if they were getting sadder which meant it might start raining soon. She pulled her cloak around her tighter and watched. Her guards finally fell silent but someone was moving up to them and she wasn't paying attention to her because she was too busy watching the others. [/center][/blockquote]

Arthur had been up before dawn, pacing around in his quarters, thinking about the day's activities. He had people riding the borders, and there weren't any upcoming stately activities, so it was beginning to seem as if his best bet was to help train. Lady Marina was cooped up in her room, at the healers directions. Which meant one less person to help out, so Arthur was going to fill the spot. Arthur eventually found himself out there in the fields, watching the young men, and occassionally women train. The trainee's were doing well, but the Saxon attacks were starting to get worse.
They had even gone as far to attack Marina. Arthur couldn't stand back and watch; he was going to protect his people. Tilting his head back, Arthur followed the two young men's gazes up, staring up at the sky. The snow would be there before they realized it, seeing how it was far too cold for rain. ”Continue on, a little snow won't hurt anything.” Arthur said, watching the two men began to move around slowly in a circle. A few seconds later, Arthur watched as two swords collided, before the younger of the men blocked the next blow. Arthur nodded his approval, before lifting a hand, running it through his dark, curly locks.
The next few minutes passed in the same manner. The two men would fight, and Arthur would watch. After their little matches, he would give constructive criticism. Turning his head, Arthur looked around at the older trainees as they practiced archery, swordsmanship, and what not. They were all doing well – and Arthur had plans on ending the training for the day within the next hour. The last thing he wanted was for them to get sick, or tired of training. A few seconds passed before Arthur heard one of the men speak, turning his head.
”Oi', isn't that Princess Helena up on the hill, Sir?” Directing his gaze up to the hill, Arthur gave a soft sigh, nodding his head. Yes, that was his young daughter up on the hill. At least she wasn't alone this time – she had a good slew of guards with her. Helena was stubborn, but she did behave well, for the most part. She did have a tendency to hide from her guards, which with reason – drove both of her parents crazy. Turning around, Arthur told the men to keep practicing, before glancing over at Andaleh. The horse would be fine while he went to go check on Helena.
Arthur then began the trek up to the base of the hill, walking past the many trainees, giving them all approving looks. It only took a few minutes before he came up from Helena's side, pulling his lips up into an amused smile as he heard his daughter tell them to hush. She was stubborn, like her mother and father. Unclasping the red cloak, Arthur wrapped it around his daughter's shoulders, before kneeling beside her. ”What are you doing out in this weather, Helena?”

Helena was not sitting on the ground with her guards towering over her. She was completely unaware of what was happening close by her. That was probably a bad thing but she was too interested in watching the men and women practice below her. She was glad she had chosen to wear her warm cloak though. She was trying to see if she could point out her father in the mix of people down below. Her guards were getting nervous about the girl being so close to all the training. Helena guessed she couldn't blame them. If something happened to her it would be there fault. They were after all supposed to be protecting her. They did a good job of that at times. They just weren't all that fun. One opened his mouth and she held up her hand. He tried to proceed and she turned to glare daggers at him. She gave a small giggle at his expression and turned back around. Things were beginning to slow down down below and she figured someone has seen them up on the hill.
She felt another cloak wrap around her shoulders and looked up to see her father. She gave him a big smile which faded when he asked what she was doing out in the weather. It hadn't dawned on the little girl that it was really cold. "I was bored in the castle and Auntie Pandra is out doing something for mommy so I wanted to come out and watch you and the others." It was the simplest of answers really. The young girl couldn't stay locked away in the castle. She knew her parents got annoyed when she didn't have her guards with her. She was very proud of herself for having them with her right now. She turned her head away from her father to watch those training yet again. Her eyes danced in amazement and amusement. She loved watching and learning while she watched. She had a dream of being able to wield such weapons as her parents did to protect her friends.
Helena had yet to grasp the concept of being royalty. She knew that her daddy had a lot of responsibilities and so did her mother but she didn't really understand why everyone bowed to them save for the knights and such. She knew she had to be protected because she was a Princess but it all still confused her. She was four and still had plenty of time to understand such things. It would get easier as she grew as well. "Daddy..." She whispered softly. "Why does everyone seem so nervous? Oh and my guards don't know how to play." She gave a half pout to her last words but was more interested in what her father had to say about the first question she had posed. The air even to her felt tense and scary and she didn't like it. She was sure it had to do with bad people but she wasn't exactly sure why it seemed to get worse in the past couple of days. She knew that Auntie Marina had been hurt by the bad people. She just didn't know if they were really, really close.
She turned away from her father again and wrapped up more in his cloak. It was so soft and big. she could sleep curled up in it for hours. Of course no one really knew that the little girl had done such a thing before. Well except for her father who found her in his cloak when she was napping. It was warm and that was why she liked it so much. It wasn't that she could feel the cold but her father's cloak made her feel even safer. She waited as patiently as possible for a distracted four year old for her father to answer her questions.
